This Halloween, we’re channelling our inner Frankenstein as we work to restore some broken feathers on a Red Kite patient. We carefully used feathers from a donor Kite who had sadly passed, to replace the broken ones through a process called Imping. While we’re not sure how the feathers were damaged, Kites rely so heavily on their tails for manoeuvring in the air, so it certainly would’ve impacted its survival in the wild.
