Alcaraz, who is seeded No. 2 at Flushing Meadows, caused a bit of a buzz with his buzz cut when he got to the tournament grounds before beating Reilly Opelka in straight sets at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Monday.

There is nothing Carlos Alcaraz can do to make himself look bad. He has proven capable of making any style work on or off the court. Alcaraz is known for being the more lighthearted and playful player compared to the buttoned-up Jannik Sinner, against whom he is constantly compared.

Carlos Alcaraz sported a new buzz cut at the U.S. Open on Monday and while the cropped style drew a mixed reaction online the Spaniard's spectacular tennis left no room for discussion as he dismantled Reilly Opelka 6-4 7-5 6-4 to reach the second round.
