The Pittsburgh Steelers have a new face in their backfield this season after drafting Kaleb Johnson in the third round of the NFL Draft.

PITTSBURGH -- Coming out of Oklahoma and Ohio State in the 2021 NFL Draft, it appeared the Pittsburgh Steelers had a lot of interest in running back Trey Sermon. However, the Steelers took Najee Harris, and the rest is history.

The Pittsburgh Steelers used their sixth-round draft pick to take quarterback Will Howard. The Ohio State product has generated a lot of excitement throughout the fan base.

The Steelers surprised many as pick after pick went by in the 2025 NFL Draft and they continued to watch Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders slide throughout the draft. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler,

The Steelers reportedly tried to trade George Pickens during the 2025 NFL Draft and were “laughed at" by other NFL teams.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens wasn't considered an option by multiple teams in the 2022 NFL draft, according to ESPN's Brooke Pryor.
