Even with his recent retirement from basketball, Fredette will live on as one of the most admired hoopers of his era.

Jimmer Fredette, the 2011 Associated Press men’s college basketball player of the year who went on to become an NBA lottery pick and then played for the U.S. in 3x3 at last year’s Paris Olympics, has announced his retirement.

Jimmer Fredette is hanging up his sneakers.  After a winding basketball career that featured National Player of the Year honors at BYU and ended in the Olympics, Fredette is retiring from basketball.
