A Tornado Watch is in effect for parts of Illinois and Northwest Indiana and Flood Watch for most of the Chicago area as severe storms approach Wednesday.

As of 1:35 p.m., much of Illinois is in a Tornado Watch, while a tornado warning is in effect for south Tazewell County. A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near San Jose at 1:35 p.m., or 10 miles northeast of Mason City, moving northeast at 15 mph.
