Michigan firefighters are in Canada helping fight some of the more than 700 active wildfires in the country, WPBN/WGTU reports. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has sent multiple crews by helicopter to remote locations in Canada, the report said. Firefighters work 17 to 20 days before returning home.

Officials said they've sent several crews to assist in controlling the massive wildfires, and they don't expect them to stop until Canada sees some snow.

As smoke begins to dissipate, Michigan's statewide advisories have ended, though some remain for Upper Peninsula and northern areas as for Aug. 6.
