Austin Slater is heading to the New York Yankees, giving them another right-handed bat they can plug into a part-time role down the stretch. The active Yankees acquired the veteran outfielder from the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday in exchange for minor league pitching prospect Gage Ziehl.

For his career, Slater is a .250 hitter with 10 homers, 45 RBI and a .727 OPS in 685 games with the Giants (2017-2024), Reds (2024), Orioles (2024) and White Sox (2025).
