Houston faces dangerous cold and an impending winter storm on Martin Luther King Day. Despite wintry outlook, MLK Day celebrations should go on as scheduled.

Today's MLK parade is still scheduled for 10 a.m.. A festival is also going to take place right after. The YMCA is also having several event to honor MLK Day.

Houston will hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade on Jan. 20, starting at 10 a.m. The parade will begin at the corner of Smith and McKinney streets, in front of Houston City Hall, located at 900 Smith St.
