GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, MI -- The victims in Saturday’s stabbing attack at a Walmart in the Traverse City area are all progressing. According to an update issued Tuesday morning by Munson Healthcare, all 11 victims are in fair condition or better.
"I'm still sitting and grappling with the weight of realizing that it was kind of a life-or-death moment," said Julia Martell, who witnessed the stabbing, which wounded 11 people.
A 42-year-old man entered the Traverse City Walmart around 4:43 p.m. on Saturday and used a folding knife to stab five men and six women, according to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office.
A Walmart employee was helping a customer check out when she heard a warning that someone in the store had a knife.

The suspect at times went off on tangents about cigarettes filled with fiberglass and seeing videos about psychotropic drugs.
