A new fire in Rio Blanco County near its border with Routt County is burning 300 acres near Crosho Lake and has prompted campground evacuations and pre-evacuation orders for nearby homes.

In Rio Blanco County, the Lee Fire has grown over 116,000 acres and is now the 5th largest in Colorado history, and the Elk Fire has burned nearly 15,000 acres. On Monday, the Crosho Fire sparked near Crosho Lake in Rio Blanco County, and it has grown to over 100 acres overnight and crept into Routt County.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -Here is the latest on the wildfires burning in Western Colorado. A new fire in Colorado prompted evacuations on the evening of August 11th. The Routt County Sheriff’s Office says a wildfire began burning on U.S. Forest Service property.
