The U.S. military is preparing for the possible activation of a portion of the DC National Guard to be deployed to Washington, D.C., according to a U.S. official. It’s unclear exactly how many Guardsmen might be activated, as a decision has not yet been made. There are 2,700 personnel in the D.C. National Guard.
