Bills coach Sean McDermott was able to convince running back James Cook to suit up and take a couple of handoffs in pregame warmups.

While McDermott made it clear that the team is the focus, and that when a player is focused on themselves, they are, for better or worse, not actively or at least fully a part of the team, given recent events Cook getting back out there in uniform is a good sign and hopefully a step in the right direction.

Running back James Cook joined the Bills in pregame warmups but declined to play in the team's preseason opener against the Giants on Saturday amid his contract dispute, coach Sean McDermott said.
