LMU knocks off No. 5 USC and No. 1 UCLA to reach the final, but TCU’s Alvarez and Moreno cap a comeback win to deliver the Horned Frogs’ first NCAA beach volleyball title.

TCU won its first-ever beach volleyball championship, defeating Loyola Marymount 3-2 in the title matches. This was the first time in NC beach volleyball history that UCLA or Southern Cal did not take home the trophy.

For the first time in school history, TCU has secured an NCAA national championship in beach volleyball. The Horned Frogs accomplished the feat Sunday, taking down Loyola Marymount by a 3-2 score in Gulf Shores, Alabama. With the victory, TCU broke a string of Southern California-based dominance in the sport.
