Leaving hospital with wounds still fresh, the sole survivor of last week’s Air India plane crash solemnly carried the coffin of his brother, performing the last rites for a life lost in the deadly disaster.

The 40-year-old talked to reporters about the horrifying moment the plane went down, describing nightmare scenes of death and destruction.

The move came a day after Indian officials told the airline to improve its operations, and as delays and canceled flights are drawing complaints from passengers.
