CINCINNATI (WKRC) — A trail connecting communities across Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky has been designated as a National Water Trail. Known as the Ohio River Trail, it stretches for 308 miles.
The project loops several trails into one cohesive network, including Wasson Way, Ohio River Trail East, Little Miami Scenic Trail, Ohio River Trail West, Mill Creek Greenway Trail and Canal Bikeway.
Applying for a national water trail designation is a "way to elevate the image of the river," said Frances Kern Mennone, who does financial consulting work for the Ohio River Way.

The Ohio River Trail, which spans 22 miles, runs adjacent to MSD's Little Miami Wastewater Treatment Plant. WWTP's plant is located at the intersection of Wilmer and Kellogg avenues.
