Tennessee State University head coach and NFL star Eddie George has reportedly been offered the head coaching position at Bowling Green University, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. The former Heisman Trophy-winning running back has revitalized the HBCU program since taking over in 2021,

Eddie George is getting a chance to coach at the top level of college football. According to multiple reports, Bowling Green has agreed to terms with the former NFL running back to become its next head coach.

Bowling Green hired former NFL running back and Tennessee State coach Eddie George on Sunday as the Falcons’ head coach.

A legendary running back turned head coach is making his return to the state of Ohio to take over Falcons football. Eddie George confirmed to WTOL 11 sister station 10TV on Sunday that he has accepted the job as the next head football coach at Bowling Green State University.

Former Tennessee State football coach Eddie George said he was not looking for a new job when Bowling Green called.

George just finished his fourth season at Tennessee State, leading the Tigers to a career-best 9-4 record capped by a Big South-Ohio Valley Conference co-championship and an appearance in the FCS playoffs. Tennessee State has upped its win total each year since 2022 under George.
