North Texas transportation council authorizes $100,000 in funds to prevent interruption in Fort Worth-Oklahoma City service
ARLINGTON – The United Football League announced its new national headquarters will be in North Texas. The headquarters will be located in Arlington, inside the city's ballpark circle. The UFL is in season from March through June, but the new facility will serve as the league's year-round operations home, the league said.
In addition to the headquarters itself, the UFL's hub includes venues around the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex that teams utilize for practices, including Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, Southlake Carroll Dragon Stadium and Vernon Newsom Stadium in Mansfield.
It was the first time in 12 years that Arlington opened new land for fracking. TotalEnergies will drill 10 new gas wells that are two-tenths of a mile from a daycare center amid an uptick in Barnett Shale activity.
The east Arlington location is the city’s first new drill site in more than a decade. Nearly 30 residents spoke against it.
