(Gray News) - The United States Postal Service will not be delivering mail on Thursday to honor the late former President Jimmy Carter. President Joe Biden declared Jan. 9 as a National Day of Mourning. It is the same day the official state funeral for Carter will be held at the Washington National Cathedral.
The U.S. Postal Service is closing all post office locations and suspending regular mail services on Thursday for the National Day of Mourning honoring Carter.
No mail will be delivered on the day of the state funeral for the 39th U.S. president and the stock market also will also be closed.
