Students and families displaced by Tuesday’s tornado in Irving are receiving some much-needed assistance as the cleanup and recovery continue.

North Texas residents living in Irving, Dallas, and Arlington are truly some of the most industrious Americans in the country, according to a new WalletHub study ranking the "Hardest-Working Cities in America" in 2025.

Many North Texans woke up to outdoor warning sirens going off as severe storms rolled through the area in the early morning hours, but the danger is not over, high winds will bring an elevated fire danger to the area on Tuesday. As the storms passed, damage reports began coming in.

The proposal includes an arena with at least 15,000 seats and casino gaming, if approved by the Texas Legislature.

Powerful storms, including at least one tornado, barrelled through North Texas early Tuesday, knocking out power to thousands, shuttering schools and ripping roofs off buildings. Many in the Dallas area woke to the wail of severe weather alarms sounding around 5:30 a.
