In her first preseason game against the Las Vegas Aces, Bueckers scored 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting, including two three-pointers, in 23 minutes. She also grabbed four rebounds. The Wings got routed by the Aces, 112-78.

Among the talent they acquired was Carrington, who was named the WNBA’s Most Improved player for her performance with the Connecticut Sun last season and has been praised for her defensive ability. Koclanes was also brought on to help the team improve on defense.

Wings guard Paige Bueckers, the first overall selection in this year's draft, got her first taste of the pros in her WNBA preseason debut.
