Brian Callahan and the rest of the Titans coaching staff have used a tough-love approach with Cam Ward to ensure he is ready for Week 1.

The Tennessee Titans are the first to point out that rookie Cam Ward has room for improvement even as the No. 1 overall draft pick provided plenty of optimism.

Cam Ward led a touchdown drive in his preseason debut, a 29-7 Titans loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Aug. 9 at Raymond James Stadium. Ward was 5-for-8 for 67 yards, with all the completions coming in the second drive (following an opening drive three-and-out). Tennessee scored on the drive via a Tony Pollard 1-yard touchdown run.
