The South Carolina Shrimpers Association filed a lawsuit accusing 25 restaurants in the state of falsely advertising their shrimp as locally caught.

The South Carolina Shrimpers Association is expected to name some two dozen Lowcountry restaurants they allege in a federal lawsuit defraud customers over the source of shrimp they serve.

The South Carolina Shrimpers Association has filed an amended complaint against 40 local restaurants, who they claim are falsely advertising local-wild caught shrimp. In June, SeaD Consulting released a study commissioned by the Southern Shrimp Alliance.

The court’s order followed a broader one last month allowing removals to countries with which migrants have no connections.

The Supreme Court is clearing the way for the deportation of several immigrants who were put on a flight in May bound for South Sudan, a war-ravaged country where they have no ties.
