The two incidents occurred just days after there were shooting scares at both Villanova and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on Aug. 21.

The University of South Carolina has given the all-clear after issuing an alert about a possible active shooter near a library on the main Columbia campus.

The University of South Carolina says there is an active shooter on campus, according to an alert from USC’s emergency notification system. The shooter was reported a little after 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Thomas Cooper Library and is being described as a six-foot white man with black pants.
