New England is headed to its first AFC Championship game appearance since the 2018 season and will face the Broncos

In a turnover-filled game that matched the sloppy, snowy-weather forecast, the New England Patriots leaned on their defense and some timely big plays on offense to record a 28-16 victory over the Houston Texans in an AFC divisional round playoff game Sunday.

While one of the designated returnees is back on the Patriots’ 53-man and game day rosters, the second has yet to be activated. Even though Terrell Jennings did practice all three days this week and fully on Thursday and Friday, he remains on injured reserve.

In snowy conditions in Foxboro, the two teams combined for eight turnovers in New England's 28-16 win over Houston in the AFC Divisional Round. The game's two quarterbacks combined for seven of them, as C.J. Stroud threw four interceptions, while Drake Maye threw an interception and lost two fumbles.

The Houston Texans couldn't overcome four turnovers from C.J. Stroud as the New England Patriots advanced to the AFC championship game wtih a 28-16 win.
