GOP House Speaker Lisa Demuth and other Republicans have blamed Democrats for the incomplete work, citing the 23-day delay to the start of the House's work as Democrats staged a walkout amid disagreement over power-sharing responsibilities, as Republicans threatened not to seat one of its lawmakers.

It was less of a sprint and more like a slow walk to the end of session on Monday, the constitutional deadline for the Legislature to wrap up its work for the year.

As the Minnesota House and Senate adjourned before their midnight deadline to pass bills Monday, Minnesota lawmakers still hadn’t finished major pieces of the upcoming two-year state budget. Bills on taxes, education and health care spending are incomplete.
