Another winter storm could bring up to 14 inches of snow to parts of the Midwest and freezing rain to parts of the Northeast, forecasters at the National Weather Service said on Sunday, as thousands of flights were delayed across the country due to the impending storm.
More than 30 million people are under winter weather alerts across the Midwest and Northeast early this week with another storm threatening to upend travelers’ plans on what is expected to be one of the busiest travel days this holiday season.
Meteorologists warned that the new storm, coming so soon after the tristate was battered by a separate winter storm over the weekend, could transform into a disastrous “bomb cyclone.”
