Hollister police said a school lockdown was triggered Thursday because of a felony traffic stop in the area.
Auburn Career Center in Concord Township went into lockdown Wednesday morning after staff reported a threatening phone call, according to officials. Students and staff were told to shelter in place while the school resource officer and Lake County deputies moved through the building to secure the campus.
Details are sparse after a Level 2 lockdown at Emporia Middle School on Tuesday. Parents received a notice Tuesday afternoon about the school “briefly” going into the lockdown to handle an unspecified student issue. The district uses Level 2 status to clear hallways and “keep the environment secure” as staff handle certain situations.

UPDATE: Lockdown at Mattoon school caused by investigation involving wanted man
Update at 12:51 p.m. MATTOON, Ill. (WCIA) — A man wanted in Minnesota was arrested in Mattoon after a related police investigation caused a soft lockdown at Mattoon High School. The Mattoon Police Department shared more information about the investigation on Facebook.
According to officials, a school resource officer received a call claiming a gunman was outside and a bomb was on campus. The officer immediately activated emergency procedures, placing the school on lockdown around 12:30 p.m. Students and staff sheltered in place while officers searched the building, and the all clear was given at roughly 2 p.m.
