Ever since the Boston Red Sox swung a deal with the White Sox to land prized southpaw Garrett Crochet back in December, extending the southpaw’s stay in Boston beyond his final two years of team control has appeared to be a top priority for the Red Sox.

Boston Red Sox newcomer Garrett Crochet acknowledged being impressed by the support his team received at spring training. Crochet landed with Boston after the Chicago White Sox traded him this offseason.

The Boston Red Sox were reportedly taken off the board as a trade partner with the Chicago White Sox for Garrett Crochet. But that all changed, thanks to assistant general manager Michael Groopman.
