A 17-year-old Edison High School student was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Route 1 in Woodbridge.
The animals discovered included 14 dogs, about 60 chickens, 34 rabbits, and various birds. The homeowner, who has been arrested, reportedly planned to move the animals to a farm in Pennsylvania.
