Apple’s board has recommended that its investors vote against a proposal to end its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs. The proposal was submitted by the conservative group, National Center for Public Policy Research (NCPPR), which argues that DEI policies expose companies to potential legal, reputational, and financial risks.

The proposal, if approved by Apple shareholders, would require the company to considering removing its DEI programs.

"The proposal is unnecessary as Apple already has a well-established compliance program," the firm's filing to investors said. Apple's board also said the DEI rollback plan "inappropriately seeks to micromanage the Company's programs and policies by suggesting a specific means of legal compliance.
