KYIV, Ukraine (AFP) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday ousted the country’s security service chief in the latest change to Kyiv’s top intelligence positions, almost four years into the Russian invasion, as Russian strikes on Ukraine early Monday killed two people and forced night-time evacuations into freezing temperatures.

The United Kingdom and France have agreed to deploy forces in Ukraine if it strikes a peace deal with Russia, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said, in a renewed push by Western leaders to guarantee Kyiv’s post-war security and deter Moscow from further aggression.
