While parts of Texas recover from ongoing thunderstorms and high winds, another front is scheduled to increase storms Wednesday.

On Monday, 36 million people are under the risk of severe storms in which strong tornadoes, hail up to 2 inches in diameter and damaging straight-line winds are possible.

West Texas will have a chance at severe weather early in the week, but chances will shift eastward by the middle of the week.

Monday is probably the peak of this event, but a concerning storm risk shifts eastward Tuesday. Cities in the highest risk for tornadoes include Minneapolis and Rochester in Minnesota and La Crosse in Wisconsin.

Millions in the Upper Midwest face the possibility of a severe thunderstorm outbreak Monday—the start of several days of extreme weather threats across the country this week.

Warm and humid weather will eventually lead to showers and storms in North Texas. Severe storms are also in the forecast later in the week.
