Tennessee Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk issued a statement about Mike Keith's departure, and included a true honor.

Longtime Tennessee Titans play-by-play radio announcer Mike Keith is leaving the Titans to become the voice of the Tennessee Volunteers.

Mike Keith leaves a lasting legacy in the Tennessee Titans ' radio booth. Keith, the Titans ' radio voice since 1999, is taking over as the "Voice of the Vols" following the retirement of Bob Kesling later this year.

Mike Keith, the voice of the Tennessee Titans, has heard fans' responses for 25 years since he made the call on radio on Jan. 8, 2000 after tight end Frank Wycheck lateraled the ball to wide receiver Kevin Dyson, who ran it down the sideline for the game-winning score against the visiting Buffalo Bills.

Mike Keith, who has been the radio voice of the Tennessee Titans for nearly three decades, will return to his alma mater to call Tennessee Volunteers football and basketball, sources briefed on the decision said.

Mike Keith, who just completed his 27th football season broadcasting Tennessee Titans games, was named Thursday as the new "Voice of the Vols" by University of Tennessee athletic director Danny White.
