Afeela is starting to become a little bit more than just a feeling. The electric vehicle, which is a joint venture between Sony and Honda, is finally available for preorder. And it only took five years to get here.

Honda and Sony introduced their first electric vehicle, the Afeela 1, initially available for pre-order in California, with plans to expand across the US and Japan. This launch is a crucial step in their partnership,

The EV will be available in "two trims," as per Sony, with prices starting from $89,900 with a 3-year complimentary subscription for certain functionality and features, according to a company press release. The tech titan has also announced online reservations through the AFEELA website with a fully refundable reservation fee of $200.

The technology and entertainment features are sublime, but the execution was less than perfect when we tried them out. Even so, there was plenty of 'wow' factor here.

The Afeela 1, the first electric car from Sony in partnership with Honda, will be launched in 2027. Starting at $89,900, the entry-level model, called Origin, will feature 19-inch wheels and only one available color: Core Black.
