Minnesota State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were shot a total of 17 times when a gunman opened fire at their home early Saturday.

A two-day manhunt ended Sunday night as police captured the suspect, Vance Boelter, in a field. No force was used.

Minneapolis – The man suspected of killing a Minnesota lawmaker and wounding another crawled to officers in order to surrender Sunday after they found him in the woods near his home, bringing an end to a massive, nearly two-day search that put the entire state on edge.
