Carlos Estévez joined Kansas City's bullpen on Friday, finalizing a $22 million, two-year contract with the Royals. The deal includes a club option for 2027. Infielder Braden Shewmake was designated for assignment to make room for Estévez on the team's 40-man roster.

The Kansas City Royals tonight announced a two-year contract with right-handed pitcher Carlos Estévez (es-TEH-vez). The deal also includes a club option for 2027. In a corresponding move, the Royals designated infielder Braden Shewmake for assignment.
