Concerns over his conditioning and eating habits reportedly caused Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison to be hesitant to give Doncic a lucrative supermax extension and subsequently trade him to the Lakers in one of the most stunning blockbusters in recent memory.

It's a pretty nifty narrative. Lakers star Luka Doncic was traded by the team that drafted him, the Mavericks, back in February, and soon after, word leaks out as to why Dallas decided to send away Doncic,

Doncic is a superstar no matter his body fat. But if this is the new version of him, it looks particularly dangerous. It'll be interesting to see how far Doncic can take Slovenia in EuroBasket, given that other teams are deeper but none of the other teams have Luka. He's looking equipped to make the most of his potential.
