After a clutch, two-out, three-run home run by Javier Baez put the Tigers up 6-4 after six innings, David Hamilton hit a two-out, two-run homer off reliever Tommy Kahnle to tie the game in the top of the seventh.

Baez thrilled the hometown fans at Comerica Park with a three-run shot that traveled 392 feet at an exit velocity of 106 miles per hour and a launch angle of 23 degrees. Baez's home run was his fourth of the season and 24th run batted in of the season as the Tigers did their best to take control of a challenging game in the Motor City.

The Tigers squandered four leads — 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 and 6-4 — across the first eight innings May 13 against the Boston Red Sox, then Báez secured an 10-9 win with a three-run, walk-off home run in the bottom of the 11th inning. It was his second homer of the game.
