After years of trying, it appears the Washington Commanders are heading back home. According to Cuneyt Dil of Axios, the Commanders and the Washington, D.C., area will unveil plans for a new football stadium at the old RFK Stadium site in the nation's capital on Monday morning.

The Washington Commanders are going home. The organization has agreed to a deal with the District of Columbia to build a stadium at the site where they had their greatest success, according to sources familiar with the situation.

The Commanders are currently under contract to play at Northwest Stadium in Maryland until early in the 2027 season, but can extend that deal until the new home is officially constructed. Team owner Josh Harris has said he is eyeing 2030 as a target opening date, per ESPN.
