They also can't guarantee they have tickets. Avoid Viator/Go/TA as none of them are the official site. Also you might struggle to get tickets until close to visit day. I'd been trying for months and only got tickets a few days before we went. Get the best all areas you can as parts of the Forum need the extra park access.

It's heaving with tourists - understandably - so difficult to 'soak up' anything. You may want to consider visiting Ostia Antica, which is much quieter and more extensive. You can get there by Metro.
